The opportunity:

We are looking for a highly accomplished Surgical Technology Clinical and Lab Instructor to teach our in-person, 10-week Surgical Technology program in the Orlando, Florida area (current need) and/or future cohorts in various locations around the US. Stepful’s programs are designed to support students at every step of the way, from getting certified by the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) to finding high-quality healthcare jobs.

This is a 1099 contract role thatrequires in-person instruction, so candidates must be local to the program site (Orlando, FL area) or willing to travel for the duration of the course. Travel and lodging support is available for instructors who are not local to the program site.

What you’ll do:

• Teach hands-on skills to students in an in-person lab setting

• Demonstrate proper technique for a given skill and provide live step by step tasks for students to perform

• Assess students’ lab and clinical competency for skills and provide feedback

• Review and evaluate the required skills students must demonstrate

• Communicate regularly with students over email and other communication tools

• Join weekly meetings to receive guidance and direction from the internal team at Stepful

• Provide ongoing support, troubleshoot issues, and prepare and plan for future modules, as needed

What you’ll bring:

• 3+ years of experience teaching surgical technology, including course delivery, assessment, and student support

• 3+ years of experience working as a Certified Surgical Technologist in a clinical setting

• Active NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist or NCCT TS-C certification

• Experience with digital tools for teaching and reading lesson plans

• Experience teaching students of diverse backgrounds and abilities

• Stellar writing and communication skills

• Ability to work approximately 32 hours per week for the duration of the 10-week program

The hourly pay rate for this opportunity is $40.00/hour. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, internal pay equity and other relevant business considerations.
