Travel Nurse (Rn) - OR (Operating Room)

Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN - OR Circulator

Shift: Days, 6:30a-7p, 12x3, 36hrs per week On call required on a regular scheduled rotation

Duration: 13 weeks

Requirements:

• OR License
• 2 years of experience required
• BLS (American Heart Association) required
• ACLS (American Heart Association) required
• PALS (American Heart Association) required
• TNCC required
• Associate of Science in Nursing required
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
• CNOR preferred
• Peri-op 101 preferred
• Previous RN circulator experience preferred
• Scrub experience preferred
• CRASE training preferred (required if travel assignment extends beyond a 6-month period)

Other Details:

• Perioperative nursing practice during the intraoperative surgical experience; responsible for safe, effective, quality patient-family centered care in the operating room and other perioperative service areas for all patient populations
• Acts as patient advocate and is responsible for direction and supervision of personnel assigned
• Protect the patient from injury caused by extraneous objects and chemical, electrical, laser, mechanical, and thermal sources
• Perform accounting procedures to protect the patient from unintended retained surgical items
• Ensure procedures are performed on the correct site, side, and level
• Manage patient specimens per organizational policy; administer medications safely and correctly
• Perform interventions to maintain wound/tissue perfusion and the status of genitourinary, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, endocrine, respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological systems and fluid/electrolyte/acid-base balances at or above baseline
• Perform interventions to protect the patient from surgical site infection; protect patient rights, dignity, and privacy
• Provide age-specific, culturally competent, ethical care within legal standards of practice
• Document nursing care accurately and collaborate effectively across disciplines; use problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
• Maintain required competencies and pursue professional growth
• Float requirement: agency nurses will be floated to other departments where qualified to perform patient care before core staff is floated
• Ability to perform a variety of duties, changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure
• Convey empathy and compassion; communicate effectively and therapeutically with people from every socioeconomic background
