Job Description

  • Job Title: Pharmacy Technician (Travel/Contract)

    Location: San Luis ObispoAssignment Type: (Temporary Contract)Shift: Schedule: Day Shift – 4x10s (No Call)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced a Pharmacy Technician, you’ll play a vital role in supporting pharmacists and ensuring safe, efficient medication distribution. This role focuses on unit-dose preparation, medication handling, and sterile compounding in a hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately pull and prepare medications based on pharmacist-reviewed orders

  • Fill and deliver unit-dose cassettes to nursing units

  • Maintain and restock medication inventory across departments

  • Rotate stock and remove expired medications

  • Assist with receiving, pricing, and stocking deliveries

  • Prepare IV medications (sterile compounding required)

  • Process returns, backorders, and supplier documentation

  • Support pharmacy operations with additional assigned duties

Qualifications

Requirements

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of hospital pharmacy experience

  • Sterile compounding experience required

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED (preferred)

  • Associate or technical degree (preferred)

Licensure:

  • Active California Pharmacy Technician license (required)

  • PTCB Certification (preferred)
