Travel Physical Therapy Assistant Job

OverviewTravel Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in Alturas, California. Start date July 28, 2026 for a 13-week travel assignment with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Expected weekly pay range is $1,447 to $1,549. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with no weekends. Work will occur in inpatient acute care and outpatient rehabilitation environments under the direction of a licensed physical therapist. This assignment is with Healthforce Healthcare LLC.Key Highlights- Weekly pay: $1,447–$1,549 per week- Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week- Contract duration: 13 weeks- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (no weekends)- Start date: 07/28/2026- Setting: inpatient acute care and outpatient rehabilitation environments- Travel assignment with dedicated recruiter and on-site assignment supportResponsibilities- Provide physical therapy treatments under the direction of the licensed Physical Therapist, applying modalities and procedures as trained (e.g., spinal traction, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, diathermy, infrared light) and adjusting as needed with clinical judgment.- Observe, evaluate, and document the effects of each treatment; communicate changes to the supervising PT and the patient’s plan of care.- Maintain an organized, legible patient record with timely, dated, and objective chart entries; ensure documentation supports care delivered.- Maintain a safe, clean treatment environment and proper infection control; collaborate with the care team to optimize patient safety and outcomes.- Assist in coordinating patient care, including patient scheduling, front-office tasks as needed, and basic supply management (ordering and maintaining PAR levels) in accordance with department guidelines.- Communicate professionally with patients, families, colleagues, and supervisors; participate as a team member to support effective plan-of-care implementation.Requirements- Current California PTA license (unrestricted) and ongoing license maintenance- BCLS (Basic Life Support) certification with no lapses- Graduate of an APTA-approved Physical Therapist Assistant program- Relevant experience or demonstrated interest in acute care, skilled nursing, and outpatient physical therapy- Demonstrates proficiency in physical therapy procedures and modalities; able to assess treatment effects- Ability to work effectively within inpatient/outpatient rehabilitation settings and collaborate with a multidisciplinary teamBenefits and Support- 24/7 recruiter and travel support throughout the assignment- Dedicated support for the duration of the assignment- Fast credentialing assistance to help you start on time- Nationwide travel opportunities across multiple assignmentsFind more opportunitiesIf you’d like to explore additional openings, apply and view other travel PTA positions available at Healthforce Healthcare LLC: https://healthforce.applytojob.com/applyPlease note: Pay rates and guaranteed hours are estimates and may vary.
