Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg/Telemetry- Vicksburg, MS
Location: Vicksburg, Mississippi Specialty: Medical Surgical / Telemetry Contract: 13 weeks, Nightshift Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours/Week Start Date: ASAP Shift:NIGHTS (7p-7:30 with rotating weekends) Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend Holidays: As Required
Must be willing to float
Requirements: NIHSS, BLS, ACLS perm address +50mi from facility

This is a multi-specialty unit primarily focused on Medical Surgical and Telemetry patients, providing an excellent environment for nurses who enjoy variety, teamwork, and caring for diverse patient populations.
The unit offers 36 hours per week and provides an opportunity to strengthen your clinical skills while working alongside an experienced nursing and ancillary team.
About the Unit
Medical patient populations may include:
Acute medical conditions
Telemetry monitoring
Dialysis patients
Complex medical needs
Surgical patient populations may include:
Orthopedic procedures
Fractures, shoulders, and back procedures
General surgery
Appendectomies
Hernia repairs
Cholecystectomies
Colon resections
The team places a strong emphasis on pain management, mobility, prevention of complications, patient safety, and optimal clinical outcomes.
️ Nurse-to-Patient Ratio
1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
Supported by a Team Leader who is out of staffing
Collaborative nursing and ancillary support
Strong focus on teamwork and patient-centered care
Floating Requirements
Flexibility is required. The selected RN must be willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed to support patient care and staffing needs.
Schedule Requirements
36 hours per week
Every other weekend
Holidays as required
Must be flexible with scheduling and floating assignments
Required Qualifications
Education
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
Certifications
AHA BLS requiredOR
American Red Cross BLS accepted
Licensure
Active Mississippi RN license OR Compact RN license
Temporary licenses are NOT accepted
Nursys verification required
Experience
1 years of RN experience required - 2 yrs preferred
Candidates with 18 months of experience may be considered
Must have at least 1 year of recent experience in the specialty
Experience must be obtained while practicing under the highest level of professional licensure
