Job Description

OverviewRegistered Nurse, Behavioral Health / Psychiatric travel assignment in Lewiston, Maine. This 13-week start on 06/08/2026 features a 3x12-hour day shift in an inpatient unit serving adolescents ages 6–18 with primary diagnoses such as major depression and ADD/ADHD. The RN will deliver direct and indirect patient care, including medication administration and education, daily documentation, and monitoring of behaviors, working closely with an interdisciplinary team. The role may require floating to Chemical Dependency/Detox as needed.Key Highlights- Weekly pay: $2,038–$2,159 per week- Duration: 13 weeks- Shift: 3x12-hour days- Start date: 06/08/2026- Setting: inpatient behavioral health unit in a hospitalResponsibilities- Provide direct and indirect patient care to adolescents on an inpatient behavioral health unit, collaborating with physicians, therapists and other care team members.- Administer medications and provide patient and family education according to physician orders and nursing standards.- Document daily patient care, monitor vital signs, mood and behavior, and report changes to the care team.- Lead and participate in education groups, contribute to care planning, and advocate for patient safety and well-being.- Respond to and de-escalate behavioral crises, implement safety protocols, and maintain professional boundaries; CPI-trained practice is required.Requirements- Active State of Maine RN license- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required- BLS certification required- CPI-trained (Crisis Prevention Intervention)- 1 year minimum nursing experience; 1–3 years preferred, with adults’ care experience noted- Willing to float to Chemical Dependency/Detox- Residency: Maine residents must reside outside a 50-mile radius- New applicants only; previous employees not accepted- No licensure hits on file; candidates with licensure hits will not be consideredBenefits and Support- Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid- 13-week contract with travel status- Includes the possibility of shift cancellation up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contractFind more opportunitiesIf you would like to explore other openings, visit Healthforce Healthcare LLC at https://healthforce.applytojob.com/applyPlease note: Pay rates and guaranteed hours are estimates and may vary.
