OverviewRegistered Nurse - ER in Burlington, Vermont, United States. Start date November 16, 2026. 20-week assignment with potential extension up to 26 weeks. Weekly pay range: $2,927–$3,105 per week. Guaranteed hours: 0.0 per week. Shift: 12-hour rotating (day/night) with a 3x12 schedule. Setting: emergency department in a high-volume clinical environment.Key Highlights- Weekly pay: $2,927–$3,105 per week- Guaranteed hours: 0.0 per week- Contract duration: 20 weeks, with potential extension to 26 weeks- Shift: 12-hour rotating day/night (3x12)- Start date: November 16, 2026- Setting: emergency department in a high-volume clinical setting- Bi-weekly orientations on Mondays- Prior travel experience required; large teaching facility experience preferredResponsibilities- Deliver direct patient care to ED patients, including assessment, triage, monitoring, and escalation of priority cases- Administer medications, initiate IV therapy, and assist with emergent procedures per protocol- Document care and updates in the electronic health record (EPIC) accurately and timely- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient flow, throughput, and safety- Monitor and respond to acute changes in patient status; implement de-escalation techniques when needed- Provide patient and family education, discharge planning, and referrals as appropriate- Ensure compliance with unit standards, evidence-based practices, and regulatory requirementsRequirements- Active Registered Nurse license in Vermont (in good standing)- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC required; TNCC must be in packet or proof of class prior to start; NIHSS required prior to start- Minimum of 2 years ER experience; prior travel experience preferred; large teaching facility experience required- EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years (nonnegotiable)- Flexibility to work a rotating day/night schedule, with a minimum requirement of every other weekend; able to adapt to unit needs and patient care demands- Shift readiness: 12-hour rotating shifts; ability to work across a busy ED environmentBenefits and Support- Bi-weekly orientation sessions on Mondays- 20-week contract with potential extension up to 26 weeks- Travel assignment with requirements for experience in large, teaching facilities- EPIC EMR experience within the last 2 years is essential- Clear documentation and credentialing requirements completed prior to startFind more opportunitiesInterested candidates are invited to apply and explore other open roles at https://healthforce.applytojob.com/applyPlease note: Pay rates and guaranteed hours are estimates and may vary.
