Job Description

OverviewRegistered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel) – Night shift in Hilo, Hawaii. Start date 09/14/2026 for a 13-week assignment. Weekly pay range: $1,871–$2,015 per week. Shift is 12-hour nights (3x12). This travel assignment involves floating to multiple medical-surgical units as needed within a hospital setting. Orientation is provided for each unit. Hawaii RN license must be active by start date. There is no guaranteed number of hours.Key Highlights- Weekly pay: 1,871–2,015 per week- Contract duration: 13 weeks- Shift: 12-hour nights (1845–0715)- Start date: 09/14/2026- Location: Hilo, Hawaii, US- Setting: Hospital medical-surgical care with cross-unit coverage; includes use of standard unit equipment and systemsResponsibilities- Provide direct patient care for adult medical-surgical patients following unit standards and care plans- Monitor patient status, administer medications, document in the EMR (Meditech), and participate in ongoing assessments- Manage specific technical needs such as wound vac and chest tubes, and assist with therapeutic procedures as trained- Float to multiple medical-surgical units as needed to support staffing and patient care- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, implement care plans, participate in discharge planning, and provide patient and family education- Maintain safety, infection control, and adherence to patient care policies; respond to emergencies and changes in patient conditionRequirements- Active Hawaii RN license by start date (must apply if not currently held)- BLS required; ACLS (Preferred: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC)- 2–10 years of RN clinical experience- Education: Graduation from an approved nursing program; current RN license in Hawaii- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and float to multiple medical-surgical units as needed- Must arrive the Thursday before start to complete employee health onboardingBenefits and Support- Unit-specific orientation to prepare for unit workflow- Pre-start employee health evaluation scheduling- Assignment support during the travel periodFind more opportunitiesIf you’d like to explore additional travel nursing openings, including other Med Surg roles, please visit https://healthforce.applytojob.com/apply to view the current opportunities from Healthforce Healthcare LLC and apply directly.Please note: Pay rates and guaranteed hours are estimates and may vary.
