Job Description

OverviewRegistered Nurse, PCU – Travel assignment in Hilo, HI. Start date 08/24/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range: $2,160–$2,272. No guaranteed hours. Schedule consists of 36 hours per week after orientation, with no on-call required. This is a hospital-based unit focusing on progressive care with telemetry support.Key Highlights- Weekly pay: $2,160 to $2,272 per week- Contract length: 13 weeks- Hours: 36 scheduled hours per week after orientation; no guaranteed hours- Start date: 08/24/2026- Setting: Acute care, Progressive Care Unit with telemetry- Floating: May float to all acute units in house (Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, ER)Responsibilities- Deliver direct nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit and telemetry monitoring- Perform frequent patient assessments, prioritize care, and implement care plans- Monitor telemetry, read and interpret telemetry strips, and respond to abnormalities- Administer medications and treatments using Meditech for documentation and Pyxis for dispensing- Perform fingerstick blood glucose checks and manage respiratory support equipment (e.g., BIPAP) as needed- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team, educate patients and families, and assist with discharge planning as appropriate- Maintain patient safety and respond to alarms and acute changes in patient condition- Floats to other in-house acute units as needed (Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, ER)Requirements- Active Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment- Minimum 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last 12 months- Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred- Certifications: ACLS preferred; PALS preferred; NIHSS certification preferred- Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care setting and to float to all in-house acute unitsBenefits and Support- Assignment support with a dedicated recruiter and travel assistance- 24/7 support for assigned travelers throughout the assignment- Orientation and pre-employment health screening required (arrive the Thursday before start)- Realistic scheduling with no on-call requirement- Access to Meditech, Pyxis, and telemetry-enabled care environmentsFind more opportunitiesInterested in other RN travel openings?
