Job Description

OverviewMedical Social Worker (MSW) role in medical social work on a short-term acute care inpatient unit, Everett, WA. Start date 05/26/2026 for a 13-week travel assignment. Weekly pay range: $1,320–$1,418 per week. Guaranteed hours: 72 hours per 2-week pay period. Shift: 4x8 days. Setting: Level II trauma center in a hospital environment with multidisciplinary support.Key Highlights- Weekly pay: $1,320–$1,418 per week- Guaranteed hours: 72 hours per 2 weeks- Contract length: 13 weeks- Shift: 4x8 days- Start date: 05/26/2026- Setting: Short Term Acute Care Inpatient / Medical Social Work in a Level II trauma centerResponsibilities- Perform psychosocial assessments for adult and geriatric inpatients on the medical-surgical service; develop and implement discharge plans in collaboration with the care team- Lead discharge planning and care coordination to address barriers to safe and timely transitions, including arranging post-acute services when appropriate- Document assessments, plans, and progress in EPIC in a timely and compliant manner; maintain accurate care plans and DSM/biopsychosocial notes- Coordinate referrals to home health, rehabilitation, long-term care, social work services, transportation, and community resources; engage with interdisciplinary colleagues (PT, pharmacy, interpretation services) to optimize patient outcomes- Provide education and psychosocial support to patients and families, including resource planning and goals of care discussions as indicated- Participate in rounding and care coordination meetings; be prepared to float across hospital settings within the system as needed to meet patient needsRequirements- Licensure: Washington state social work license in hand at submittal; Licenses accepted include LICSW, LSWAIC, LASW, LSWAA; the facility will accept LMSW or LCSW with Master’s degree- Certifications: BLS required; COVID-19 vaccination not required- Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience; strong preference for diverse case management across Med-Surg, discharge planning, and care coordination; acute care and ED experience helpful- Education: Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program- Skills: EPIC charting experience required; ability to work in a hospital setting and to float to other campus locations within the system as needed- Other: This is a travel assignment; locals not accepted; 40 hours of orientation and pre-start training requiredBenefits and Support- Dedicated support from Healthforce Healthcare LLC throughout the assignment- 24/7 travel and assignment support for clinicians- Pre-start orientation and required training to align with site expectations- Credentialing and licensure support to facilitate onboarding and ongoing compliance- On-site parking provided (facility-paid)Find more opportunitiesFor additional travel social work opportunities from Healthforce Healthcare LLC, visit https://healthforce.applytojob.com/apply and search for open postings.PAY DISCLAIMERPlease note: Pay rates and guaranteed hours are estimates and may vary.
