Job Description
Traveling Construction Superintendent- Petroleum and Fuel Systems- Base Salary to 140k/year- Longview, WA
- Our client, a multi-state design-build contractor specializing in commercial and petroleum construction, is seeking a Traveling Construction Superintendent to oversee fuel system and gas station construction projects across the United States.
- This is a full travel role (up to 80%), supporting projects nationwide. Candidates can be based anywhere in the continental United States, with preference for those located in western regions.
Responsibilities:
- Manage field operations for petroleum construction projects, including gas stations, underground fuel tanks (UST), and fuel piping systems
- Coordinate daily jobsite activities, including subcontractors, labor, equipment, and materials in active outdoor construction environments
- Partner with Project Managers during preconstruction to support scheduling, estimating, and budgeting
- Read and interpret construction drawings, site plans, and grading specifications
- Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with safety and environmental standards
- Oversee installation and layout of fuel systems, piping, and related infrastructure, using hand and power tools as needed
- Conduct regular site inspections and provide progress updates to internal teams and stakeholders
- Manage permitting and ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations
- Track job costs, materials, and inventory
- Enforce jobsite safety standards, including the use of appropriate protective equipment, and communicate with safety personnel as needed
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL may be required based on project scope and equipment operation needs
- 5+ years of construction experience with strong exposure to grading, equipment operation, and blueprint reading
- Direct experience with underground fuel tanks (UST) and fuel piping systems for gas station or petroleum projects
- Supervisory experience managing field crews on construction projects
- Ability to travel up to 80% across the United States
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions and on active construction sites, including lifting materials up to 50 lbs as needed
- Ability to meet jobsite safety and regulatory requirements, including compliance with DOT physical certification and routine safety testing, as applicable to the role
