Ripple Effect Consulting is hiring Construction Materials Testing Runners for a long-term border wall infrastructure project based near El Paso, TX and Deming, NM. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone with construction experience who is interested in getting into construction materials testing, field operations, or infrastructure inspection work.
No certifications are required for this position. Construction, labor, field, or driving experience is preferred.
What You'll Do
As a Runner, you will support field and lab teams by helping move samples, materials, and project information between active field sites and mobile labs. Responsibilities may include:
Transporting construction material samples from the field to mobile labs
Supporting field technicians and lab staff with daily project needs
Helping organize, label, and track samples
Driving between project locations as needed
Assisting with basic site coordination and communication
Following safety and project procedures
Maintaining professionalism while working around active construction operations
What We're Looking For
Qualified candidates should have:
No certifications required
Construction experience preferred
Ability to work outdoors and around active construction sites
Ability to follow instructions and communicate clearly
Dependable attendance and willingness to work extended project schedules
Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record
Ability to pass required compliance checks, including drug screen, background check, and MVR
Schedule and Travel
This is a long-term project opportunity, with current work expected to continue into 2028 and additional project opportunities anticipated.
Runners can expect:
8 weeks on, 1 week off, depending on project needs
Approximately 60 hours per week
6-day workweeks, typically 10-hour days
Rotating weekends off
Paid travel to and from the project
Company truck provided when required by the assignment
One week of onboarding/training in Pittsburgh
Per Diem and Lodging
Per diem is built into the project and may vary by assignment. Current travel support includes:
Lodging support of up to $110/night
Food allowance of $60/day
Lodging may be arranged by the company
Candidates using a trailer or arranging their own Airbnb may receive the lodging allowance directly, depending on project arrangements
Local candidates are welcome, and out-of-state candidates will also be considered.

Compensation
