Job Description

Job Position: Traveling Security Technician

Location: Pflugerville, TX 78660

Pay Rate: $22 $35/Hour

TradSTAR is hiring experienced Traveling Security Technicians for commercial low-voltage projects supporting access control, intrusion, and integrated security systems across multiple job sites. This position is ideal for technicians comfortable working in different cities and job environments while delivering consistent, code-compliant installations and service work.

• Responsibilities• Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot commercial security and access control systems.• Install card readers, controllers, door contacts, REX devices, maglocks, and electric strikes.• Run and terminate low-voltage cabling for security and integrated systems.• Perform system commissioning, testing, and verification across multiple sites.• Troubleshoot IP-based access control systems and field devices.• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, riser drawings, and system schematics.• Support integration of access control with CCTV and intrusion systems.• Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites across all travel locations.• Follow project specifications, manufacturer requirements, and applicable codes.

• Qualifications• 3+ years of commercial access control and security system experience preferred.• Experience with systems such as LenelS2, Software House CCURE, Genetec, Avigilon, Brivo, Openpath, Gallagher, Honeywell Pro-Watch, or Verkada.• Strong understanding of low-voltage wiring, relay logic, and IP networking.• Ability to troubleshoot and commission systems independently.• Experience installing and servicing door hardware (maglocks, strikes, REX devices).• Ability to read construction drawings and technical documentation.• Valid driver s license required.• Willingness and ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
