Job Description: Superintendent
Oversee day-to-day on-site supervision of the field labor force, including assistants, foremen, subcontractors, and other construction personnel.
Collaborate with the Project Manager in supervising and managing the overall construction process, ensuring alignment with design specifications, budget, quality standards, and project timelines.
Provide technical assistance as needed, including interpretation of construction drawings, recommending construction methods, and advising on equipment usage across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
Conduct inspections of contractor and subcontractor operations to ensure compliance with the terms of the contract.
Review and approve Trade Contractor Payment Applications in collaboration with the Project Manager.
Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Owners, Architects, Engineers, and project partners.
Develop and manage the site logistics plan in coordination with the Project Manager, ensuring smooth project operations.
Oversee the development and implementation of Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes, conducting inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards.
Coordinate site testing and inspections to verify compliance with project requirements.
Monitor project costs, including labor, time, and material usage, ensuring alignment with budgeted projections.
Enforce and communicate adherence to the Safety and Health Management Program, promoting a safe work environment for all personnel.
Champion an Injury-Free Environment by demonstrating safety leadership and mentoring others in safe practices.
Manage project schedules, including preparing detailed short-term schedules and ensuring that activities are completed on or ahead of schedule.
Prepare and submit daily Superintendent Reports documenting weather conditions, field progress, trade/subcontractor manpower, issues impacting the project, and necessary incident/accident or quality reports.
Conduct regular subcontractor meetings to discuss project status, challenges, and expectations.
Attend and actively participate in project meetings to align team efforts and address concerns.
Provide training and mentorship to support the development of field superintendents and engineers, fostering continuous professional growth within the team.
Profile
- 6+ years of Commercial Construction experience
- Strong knowledge of MEP & FP, and mission critical systems
- Completed Commercial projects greater than $15M (please include a list of projects completed with resume)
- Efficient in MS Project, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Outlook
