The Job Details: We currently seek a Class A Driver covering the local and regional area operating 45’-53’ reefer trailers

Safely operate a tractor to transport goods from or to customer locations following all local, state, and federal guidelines.

Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.

Follow appropriate safety and food safety procedures for transporting goods.

Inspect loads to ensure that cargo is secure.

Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.

Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.

Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required.

Check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy.

Check conditions of trailers after contents have been unloaded to ensure that there has been no damage.

Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs.

Operate equipment, such as truck cab computers, CB radios, phones, and global positioning systems (GPS) equipment to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers.

Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices.

Load or unload trucks or help others with loading or unloading, using special loading-related equipment or other equipment as necessary.

Follow special cargo-related procedures, such as checking refrigeration systems for frozen foods.

Cultivate well-trained workforce, including support of performance-management, and career-development

Maintain yard security in accordance with company requirements.

Work with the transport team to manage yard-based transport requirements and ensure load out rates are in accordance with company requirements.

Demonstrate personal responsibility for, and ensure compliance with, all Safety, Health, Environment, Community, and Sustainability (SHECS) policies, procedures, and initiatives within a team

Support and ensure team compliance with all Company policies, procedures, and initiatives

The Job Specifics:

Job Type: Part-time, 30-40 hours

What We Are Looking For:

Education

High School Degree/ GED Required

Experience

1-year minimum experience operating Class A vehicles; reefer experience preferred

Must have a clean MVR and provide an MVR upon request

Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal

Be able to read written English

Capable of following verbal and written instructions

Available to work various shifts

·Ability to lift overhead 

·Bend and lift up to 70 lbs. on an occasional basis

·Stand and walk for extended periods of time

·Use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls 

·Be able to read written English

·Use scanners, tablets, radio, phones, and other warehouse machinery

·Work longer hours as needed to satisfy customer and USCS daily and seasonal requirements

·Drive a registered motor vehicle to satisfy daily requirements 

·Have acceptable and / or correctable vision  

The Standard Details:

Always maintain a professional manner in appearance and communications.

Participate in staff and/or customer meetings if required.

Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality systems. 

Identify and record any issues relating to product, processes and/or quality.

Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through appropriate channels.

Verify the implementation of solutions.

Follow posted security procedures at all times while in the building.

Participate in Safety and Educational Training.
