Summary:
Position reports directly to the Truss Shift Supervisor and is responsible for all aspects of roof and floor truss and wall panel manufacturing by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Examine material prior to assembly to make sure defective lumber is not included in any of the manufacturing of our trusses
- Offload and sort materials onto designated carts and organizing the material for the job sequence
- Complete the tasks on the assembly line for each job.
- Put to use the various saws including the computer controlled Cybersaw, Spidasaw or Radial Arm saw for accurate cutting
- Execute operation on the MiTek truss assembly table including specified board and web placement using the Virtek setup system
- Operates Roof glider press, finished truss conveyor and automated truss stacker
- Perform gable assembly using air nailers and staplers
- Keep the manufacturing floor clear and safe during production line - attending to any housekeeping duties that may incur on the floor.
- Immediately reports all accidents, injuries and incidents of damage, to merchandise, buildings and equipment and customer property to the Operations Manager.
- Knows and practices safe and proper lifting, carrying and material maneuvering practices.
