Job Description
About the Position
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Trust & Estate Paralegal to join a Florida law practice. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting attorneys across estate planning, trust administration, probate, and estate administration matters.
This is an excellent opportunity for a paralegal who enjoys working with clients and attorneys and wants to be part of a collaborative practice focused on helping individuals and families protect and transfer their assets.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with estate planning and trust matters.
- Prepare and coordinate wills, revocable trusts, pour-over wills, powers of attorney, health care documents, and related estate-planning documents.
- Assist with formal and summary probate administrations.
- Prepare drafts of probate petitions, notices, motions, proposed orders, and other pleadings for attorney review.
- Assist with trust administration, beneficiary communications, accountings, and distributions.
- Prepare and maintain estate and trust inventories and case files.
- Track deadlines, creditor claims, notices, and court filings.
- Assist with trust funding and asset-transfer documentation.
- Coordinate with clients, beneficiaries, personal representatives, trustees, financial institutions, CPAs, financial advisors, and other professionals.
- Assist with estate and trust closings and final distributions.
- Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential client files.
- Provide general administrative and paralegal support to attorneys handling trust and estate matters.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of paralegal experience preferred.
- Experience with trusts, estates, probate, or estate planning strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Florida probate procedures and estate-planning terminology.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and proofreading abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines.
- Professional handling of confidential client information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case-management software.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and client-focused, with a strong interest in trusts and estates. Experience with complex estate planning, high-net-worth clients, irrevocable trusts, tax planning, business succession, or fiduciary matters is a plus.
