American Heritage School is a mission-driven, faith-centered private school aligned with the teachings and values of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We are seeking a UCSSAL Girls Middle School Basketball Head Coach who is passionate about both basketball and helping students grow physically, spiritually, socially, and intellectually.Compensation is a seasonal stipend.Nature of the Role This position is considered a faith-forming role within American Heritage School. The UCSSAL Girls Middle School Basketball Head Coach is expected to actively support, model, and teach principles consistent with the mission and values of AHS and the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, leading the middle school girls basketball team as head coach, upholding the mission and standards of American Heritage School.Qualifications Candidates should have a basketball background. Successful candidates will demonstrate:Experience with basketball Experience coaching
An enduring love of youth and a genuine passion for teaching and learning
The ability to use sports as a tool to build better disciples of Jesus Christ and Christian character.A commitment to actively participate in and contribute to a faith-based educational environment aligned with the teachings and values of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day SaintsStrong communication and management skills
Faith and Mission Responsibilities In addition to UCSSAL Girls Middle School Basketball Head Coach responsibilities, the successful candidate is expected to:Integrate faith-based principles and moral reasoning into the athletics program where appropriate
Serve as an example of Christian character and discipleship to students
Support and uphold the spiritual mission of the school through daily interactions with students and colleagues
Respond thoughtfully to student questions related to faith, values, and moral decision-making in a manner consistent with the school's mission
Professional Expectations Candidates should be professional in appearance and demeanor and willing and able to serve as ambassadors for the AHS Mission, Honor Code, and Diversity Statement on and off campus.
