Job Description
UI / UX FOR GAME DEVELOPMENT (Remote or Onsite)
Job Description
Come be a part of a new team at Ghost Gaming, sister company of Skillshot Media, where we are cultivating the best talent in games to push the boundaries of user-generated content (UGC) in Fortnite. This role is a short-term contract (4 months) working on a fast-paced, high-profile project. We’re looking for experienced developers who can jump in immediately and work full-time with our team in Atlanta (onsite or remote). This hybrid artist-designer role requires candidates to concept and design user experiences end-to-end, then create and deliver polished, game-ready UI assets.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain final 2D assets with a consistent visual style.
- Develop UX wireframes and UI mockups using relevant tools (Figma).
- Build effective, animated UIs in-editor with UMG and Widget Blueprints.
- Optimize your work for usability, clarity, affordance, signifiers, and visual hierarchy.
- Determine how best to use AI-based tools to optimize asset production, where appropriate.
- Collaborate with designers, artists, and developers to translate concepts into playable features.
About the Team
At Ghost Launchpad, we create games within the Fortnite ecosystem that push the boundaries of UEFN. Our focus is on building innovative, lasting experiences for UGC players.
In this contract role, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of developers, publishers, and leaders to support the creation and delivery of these experiences. This position is based in Atlanta, Georgia. In-person work is preferred, though remote arrangements may be considered for more experienced candidates.
What would make you a great candidate
Education: B.F.A., related field or equivalent working experience, or self-taught with a relevant portfolio we can review.
Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant 2D software (e.g. Figma, Adobe Suite, Krita).
Experience: Developed games with UEFN, Unreal Engine, or other game engine (e.g. Unity, Roblox Studio). Experience working with materials and animated UIs in Unreal is a plus.
Mindset: You thrive at solving hard problems on your own, using a methodical approach.
Passion: You are driven to create intuitive, accessible, and visually clear experiences that reduce cognitive load and empower users to accomplish their goals effortlessly, with an appreciation for how popular UGC games handle this today.
Personality: You are a self-starter, demonstrate strong collaboration and communication skills, approach interactions with empathy and positive intent, and give and receive feedback respectfully, focusing on impact and outcomes.
Fortnite: We are making games for Fortnite players and you are excited to dive deep into the game and its many ecosystems.
