DIS is seeking a Full-Time Ultrasound Technologist (1 FTE) to support the VA Portland Health Care System.
Shift Availability:
Full-Time – 80 hours per pay period
May include:
8-hour shifts
9-hour rotating shifts
10-hour shifts
Rotating weekends and Federal Holidays possibleOn-call coverage required (significant on-call allocation)Overtime possible
Period of Performance:
Base Year: June 1, 2026 – May 31, 2027Up to four option years, if interested through May 31, 2031
Key Responsibilities (What you will do)
Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures in hospital setting
Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment
Understand anatomy, physiology, and pathology relevant to imaging
Document clinical findings accurately in VA systems
Maintain high-quality imaging standards
Follow VA infection control and patient safety policies
Respond to after-hours and emergency imaging needs
Maintain equipment sterility and readiness
Communicate effectively with physicians and care teams
Required Skills:
RDMS certification required
Graduate of accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
Minimum three (3) years of recent ultrasound experience
Active Oregon license (or ability to obtain)
Current BLS certification
Experience in hospital-based imaging preferred
Knowledge of PACS and digital imaging systems
Ability to lift up to 50–100 lbs occasionally
Ability to pass federal background screening
