Job Summary:

Are you ready to have an exciting career with a growing company? Appalachian Underwriters, Inc., part of Acrisure, is looking for an Underwriting Assistant for our Oak Ridge, TN office. The Underwriting Assistant supports the underwriting staff by carrying out various support tasks. Prior insurance experience is NOT required. You can Earn While You Learn!

Also open to candidates on-site in our office in Peters, MO, Burlington, NC, Charlotte, NC or Boone, NC.

Responsibilities:

Issuance of quotes, endorsements, and cancellation notices.
In-bound and outbound calls with agents, clients, and brokers.
Response to submissions, e-mails, messages within timely manner.
Assist business individuals and/or teams responsible for preparing binding documents.
Maintain updated documentation.
Manage and coordinate the filing of documentation as it relates to policies.
Follow up with customers to insure accurate records.

Requirements:

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office.
Strong communication and computer skills.
Must be highly organized, detailed oriented, and have excellent time management skills.
Must have strong teamwork skills.

Education/Experience:

Associates Degree preferred.

Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
