Join our team as a Universal Banker and make a meaningful impact in the lives of our customers!

Position Summary:

The Universal Banker is a versatile, customer-focused professional responsible for delivering a full range of financial services. This role builds strong customer relationships by identifying needs, providing solutions, and making referrals. Universal Bankers process and balance customer transactions, provide guidance on bank products and services, and strengthen account relationships with both new and existing customers. They also counsel customers and prospects on appropriate financial solutions and may manage a portfolio of clients, depending on branch needs. This position combines and expands upon the responsibilities of the Teller role.

Based at our Arrowhead Branch, this role also supports the Dow Rummel and Touchmark Retirement Centers each week. The schedule includes Monday through Friday hours, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, along with rotating Saturday mornings from 9:00 am to noon.

What will you do:

Accountabilities

Sales & Service

Execute the Sales and Service program of the department when working with customers.

  • Provide exceptional customer service by actively engaging with customers, addressing their inquiries, and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Perform various banking transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Effectively manage cash handling responsibilities including balancing cash drawers and vaults, to maintain accuracy and security.
  • Assist customers in opening, closing, and maintaining various types of accounts, such as savings, checking, certificates of deposits (CDs), and retirement accounts.
  • Act as a financial advisor in identifying customer needs and recommending appropriate banking products and services, such as loans, credit cards, and investment options or referring the customer to other departments.
  • Promote and cross-sell banking products and services to meet sales targets and enhance the overall customer relationship.
  • Handle customer complaints and issues effectively, escalating them to department supervisor or other bank teammates as appropriate.
  • Proficiently use banking software and technology systems to facilitate transactions, account management, and customer interactions.
  • Monitor teller transactions and provide support as needed.
  • Strive to meet goals that have been set for them and for their overall team.
  • Deliver world class customer service by exceeding customer's expectations and building brand loyalty.
  • Based on location, there may additional responsibilities assigned.

Quality

Follow guidelines, policies, and procedures of the bank to keep errors to a minimum.

  • Stay up-to-date with banking regulations and compliance requirements to ensure all activities adhere to legal and ethical standards.
  • Ensure that all customer transactions are processed with precision and without errors. Accuracy in financial transactions is crucial to maintaining the trust of our customers and maintaining compliance with banking regulations.
  • Properly document all customer account activities, including account openings, closures, and maintenance. Ensure that all paperwork and digital records are complete, accurate, and compliant.
  • Effectively balance time between helping teller team and opening accounts with clients.
  • Follow security procedures to protect bank assets, customer information, and maintain a secure banking environment.

Qualifications

High school diploma required. One or more years of relevant work experience or a combination of education/experience that would enable incumbent to meet accountabilities and required competencies of the position. Cash-handling, sales and service experience preferred.
