University Relations CoordinatorLocation: Houston, TexasContract: 6 months (with potential for extension and conversion)

Position OverviewOxy is seeking an experienced and motivated University Relations Coordinator to join a collaborative and fast-paced team in Houston. This role is a backfill for a team member who has been in the position for over a year and will serve as a key operational and logistical partner supporting university recruiting efforts and intern programs.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in university relations, including advising experience, who thrives in a highly organized, detail-oriented, and team-focused environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesSupport campus recruiting efforts, including pre-campus, on-campus, and post-campus strategies. Coordinate logistics for career fairs and recruiting events, including shipping materials, packaging, tracking, and returns. Ensure all materials are prepared, organized, and aligned with Oxy branding standards. Set up and manage events in Yello, including scheduling, interview panels, and event details. Build and maintain relationships with universities, student organizations, and campus partners.

Coordinate candidate travel, accommodations, interview logistics, and expense tracking and reimbursements. Manage candidate tracking systems and distribution of applicants. Support University Relations Advisors and collaborate closely with the Program Lead. Assist with planning and execution of the summer intern program, including onboarding, project coordination, mentor assignments, intern events, field trips, presentations, performance evaluations, and offer processes.

Manage vendor relationships, invoicing, and expense tracking. Maintain inventory of university relations materials and giveaways. Track campus participation, recruiting metrics, and historical data. Assist with reporting for Talent Acquisition metrics on a monthly and quarterly basis. Ensure compliance with applicable hiring and Affirmative Action requirements.

The role offers the opportunity to work closely with leadership and recruiting operations while supporting key university hiring initiatives. The environment is fast-paced and requires strong organization, attention to detail, and adaptability.

Preferred QualificationsBachelor s degree in Human Resources or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of professional experience. At least 1 year of university recruiting or university relations experience preferred. Experience supporting or working alongside university relations or advising teams is highly valued. Strong organizational and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word. Experience with event management and recruiting platforms such as Yello, which is a major plus, and Handshake. Familiarity with Workday as an applicant tracking system is a plus. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally.

Additional DetailsThis is a 6-month contract role with the potential for extension or conversion based on performance and business needs. If converted, the role will be non-exempt. The interview process will move quickly and consists of two rounds, including a panel or group interview followed by a director interview. All interviews will be conducted in person.Notes from previous supplier call:-TA Coordinator would also work, as long as they have had experience coordinating interviews.-This role is mostly scheduling interviews, travel details, and coordinating logistics for university recruitment events.-Some candidates have been doing coordinating but working at companies where it's more classified as a generalist and not specific that being just a function of their role.-Recruiters are not a good fit for this role, because this role is not necessarily recruiting and mostly coordinating.-Team is about to hit fall recruitment and being extremely busy, need to hit the ground runningQ:What has been missing piece in resumes?Needing candidates who are local, candidates have experience on their resume but get to interview and haven't done any coordinating or scheduling for candidates or events.Q:Challenges seen have similar experience but moved to recruiter role, are they a fit?Would depend on what their recruitment background has involved in those years and how long they have been out of a coordinator role.
