Join our dedicated team in Kennebunk as a Senior Retail Collections Specialist and help make a difference every day.As a Senior Collections Specialist, youll play a vital role in managing delinquent retail loans, including mortgages, auto loans, and consumer credit accounts. Working closely with the Special Assets Department, your efforts will help safeguard the banks assets while providing essential support to borrowers navigating financial challenges.What You'll Do As a Senior Retail Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Contact delinquent borrowers via phone to establish payment commitments or arrange payment plans to bring loans current.*
- Research and document reasons for delinquency, including current property use and borrower circumstances.*
- Identify loans needing immediate attention or posing potential risks, and refer them to the Special Assets Managers.*
- Collaborate with the team to document loan modifications and follow up on changes on loan systems.*
- Perform skip tracing to locate delinquent borrowers and update contact information.*
- Assist in gathering information necessary for mediation and legal actions, including tax liens and bankruptcy notices.*
- Support the monitoring of defaults, legal notices, and foreclosure activities as directed.*
- Perform administrative duties such as preparing reports, default letters, and compliance documentation.*
- Help process loan modifications, forbearance agreements, and coordinate foreclosure actions.
- At least 2+ years of consumer collection experience preferred.*
- Strong knowledge of consumer collection regulations and Freddie Mac requirements is a plus.*
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Outlook, and Excel.*
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.*
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.*
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.*
