US Payroll Specialist
Location: Malvern, PA 19355 (Remote – preference for candidates near Gypsum sites) Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours/week) Pay Rate: $32.00/hr
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented US Payroll Specialist to support North America payroll operations. This role is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing for U.S. employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
This is a remote position, with preference given to candidates located near manufacturing sites. The role also supports general accounting activities and plays a key role in payroll system integrations and audits.
Key Responsibilities
- Process U.S. payroll (hourly and salaried) accurately and on time
- Perform payroll calculations including retroactive pay, adjustments, and off-cycle payments
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and payroll regulations
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and calculations
- Maintain and validate payroll data, HRIS updates, and master file changes
- Support payroll audits and ensure documentation accuracy
- Perform monthly payroll-related general ledger reconciliations
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and cross-functional teams
- Work across multiple systems and data integrations
- Assist with system updates, including Workday implementation (if extended)
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of payroll experience (U.S. payroll required)
- UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) payroll experience – REQUIRED
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables
- Ability to convert documents (Excel/Word) into PDF format
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and general accounting principles
- Experience working with multiple systems and system integrations
- Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Ability to multi-task and work independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PeopleSoft Payroll or similar systems
- Exposure to Workday (especially helpful due to system implementation)
- Knowledge of SAP General Ledger
- Experience with U.S. payroll taxation and compliance
- Background in a manufacturing environment
Work Environment
- Fully remote role
- Preference for candidates near manufacturing facilities
- Standard business hours with occasional flexibility as needed

- Potential for extension based on business needs
- Experience with UKG and Excel (pivot tables) is critical for success in this role
