  • The pay scale above is the compensation range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position. Within this range, individual pay is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, specific skills, relevant work experience, relevant education and/or training, and performance related bonuses and incentives.

Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Forecast goals and objectives for the Used Car Department

  • Prepare and administer an annual operating budget to meet goals and objectives

  • Work closely with other department managers to ensure cooperation and teamwork throughout the dealership

  • Recruit, hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all Used Vehicle Sales Employees

  • Direct and schedule the activities of all Used Car Department employees

  • Guide all salespeople in setting their objectives on a short- and long-range basis

  • Hold a weekly one-on-one meeting with each salesperson to review current goals, performance, and work plan

  • Develop and organize a training schedule, as directed by the General Sales Manager and the Ken Garff processes, to ensure that each salesperson receives sales training and/or role-playing sessions regularly

  • Assist all sales associates with closing deals when necessary as every customer must talk to a manager before leaving the dealership when possible

  • Assist in developing programs of improvement for those sales associates who are failing to reach their objectives

  • Provide exception customer service while generating leads through our service drive.

  • Acquire 60-80 units per month and help your team sell 40 per month.

  • Meet with service advisors regularly and check in on opportunities.

  • Look at service appointments in the Reynolds and Reynolds Tool and follow up with customers on the drive that are in the most likely category.

  • Aim for 5 ICO Appraisals per day.

  • Goal of at least 3 vehicle acquisitions a week.

  • Hand off customer to appropriate manager if customer wishes to trade their vehicle for either a new or used vehicle.

  • If customer decides to sell only, do a thorough mechanical inspection.

  • Present KBB ICO and Appraisal Purchase Voucher from vAuto to customer (if selling only).

  • Follow up with KBB ICO offers that did not sell or trade.

  • Make 40-60 calls per day using the Reynolds and Reynolds tool and setting 4 appointments per day.

  • Daily checkout with General Sales Manager providing confirmation on daily performances.

  • Follow Ken Garff guidelines and process regarding customer negotiations and desking procedures

  • Recommend to the General Sales Manager or General Manager the used car inventory to be carried

  • Assist in the development of advertising campaigns and other promotions

  • Follow up on all leads and increase ROI on online marketing

  • Other duties as assigned

Here's what you'll need:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working as a Used Car Manager

  • Minimum of 2 years leading a high performing sales team

  • 2 year of experience doing auto appraisals is preferred

  • Must have Automotive BDC, Internet or Preowned Manager experience

  • At least 3 years Customer Service experiences (Hotel/Restaurant/Service Industry)

  • Experience in F&I is highly desired but not a requirement

  • Must be able to provide references upon request

  • High School diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred

  • Must be 18 years or older and be authorized to work in the U.S

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • A valid in-state driver's license and a good driving record, per company standards
