Utility Operator I

PPS is seeking a Utility Operator I for our state-of-the-art fabrication facility in Hillsboro. This is a full-time permanent position with a great starting pay rate, second-to-none benefits, and a high ceiling for growth!

The Utility Operator I supports daily manufacturing operations by performing part finishing and assisting operators in the saw, laser, and bending work centers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities• Deburr, grind, sand, and clean manufactured parts to required quality standards.• Remove sharp edges, slag, burrs, and other surface imperfections.• Assist with loading and unloading materials at saws, lasers, and bending equipment.• Stage raw materials and work-in-process according to the production schedule.• Help sort, count, identify, and move completed parts to the next operation.• Perform basic inspections using drawings, work instructions, and measuring tools.• Maintain accurate part identification and prevent parts from being mixed.• Support machine operators with material handling, cleanup, and routine production tasks.• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas.• Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.• Report quality, equipment, or material concerns to the lead or supervisor.• Perform other manufacturing and material-handling duties as assigned.

Qualifications• Previous manufacturing experience preferred but not required.• Ability to read basic work instructions and part drawings.• Ability to use basic hand tools, grinders, sanders, and measuring equipment.• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.• Dependable attendance and ability to follow the production schedule.

Physical Requirements• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.• Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive tasks.• Ability to work around manufacturing equipment, noise, metal debris, and moving materials.
