Job Description
Provide PC hardware, software and peripheral support to computer users.
Requirements

Education and/or Experience:
- Graduate from high school or general education degree.
- One to two years related experience and/or training.
Language Skills:
- Read and interpret procedures, policies and regulations, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisor, staff, and public.
Mathematical Skills:
- Add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- Perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability:
- Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of non-standard situations.
- Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Lift 70 pounds.
- Strong verbal and interpersonal skills
- Experience in the use of office machines.
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- Speak the Iñupiaq language.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide hardware and software telephone and user site support to PC users.
- Install, trouble-shoot, and repair hardware, software and peripheral equipment.
- Travel to villages as needed to support PC hardware, software and peripheral equipment.
- Assist the WAN personnel in installation and support of network equipment.
- Adhere to all District policies and regulations.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to travel within and outside of the North Slope Borough School District. The employee must be willing and able to fly in small and large commuter planes.
