The Opportunity:
CACI’s Agile Solution Factory (ASF) Center of Excellence (CoE) is seeking a UX Designer Intern to join our UX Factory team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about creating intuitive, user-centered experiences and eager to learn how UX shapes real-world products at scale.
As a UX Designer Intern, you will contribute to the design of digital products by supporting research, design, and usability efforts across multiple teams. You’ll work alongside experienced UX designers, product managers, and developers to help translate user needs into thoughtful, accessible, and engaging experiences.
This is a hands-on opportunity to build foundational UX skills across the full design lifecycle—from research and ideation to prototyping and testing.
Responsibilities:
- Support UX initiatives and contribute to user-centered design practices across the ASF UX Factory
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (UX, product, engineering) to understand user needs and translate them into design solutions
- Assist in creating: Wireframes, User flows, Journey maps, Low- and high-fidelity prototypes
- Participate in user research activities, including: User interviews, Surveys and questionnaires Usability testing, Heuristic evaluations
- Analyze research findings and help identify usability issues and opportunities for improvement
- Iterate on designs based on feedback, testing results, and stakeholder input
- Contribute to and help maintain design systems, pattern libraries, and reusable components
- Ensure designs follow accessibility (Section 508 / WCAG) and usability best practices
- Assist in documenting UX processes, design decisions, and guidelines
- Stay curious and engaged with evolving UX trends, tools, and methodologies
Qualifications:Required:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in User Experience or Interaction Design, Human - computer Interaction, Digital Design, Information Architecture, or Computer Science ( UX-focused track)
- Foundational understanding of UX principles and user-centered design
- Exposure to UX activities such as research, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing
- Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar
- Basic understanding of interaction design, visual hierarchy, and layout principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to learn quickly and work in a team environment
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
Desired:
- Exposure to design systems or component libraries
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, or front-end concepts
- Familiarity with Agile or iterative development environments
- Exposure to accessibility standards (Section 508, WCAG)
- A portfolio (academic or personal projects) demonstrating design thinking and process

Pay Range:
There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
