UX/UI Designer
Hybrid: In Office Every Thursday in Elmhurst, IL Required
- UX & Interaction Design
- Design end-to-end customer workflows that simplify complex logistics processes, including order placement, shipment tracking, order visibility, notifications and alerts, document access (BOL, POD, COC), and account management.
- Map user journeys and identify friction points to ensure customers can complete tasks efficiently with minimal cognitive load
- Create low- and mid-fidelity wireframes to validate structure and flow before visual refinement.
- Develop interactive, clickable prototypes in Figma to support stakeholder alignment and usability testing.
- Produce production-ready UI artifacts and annotated design specifications for Engineering
- Contribute to and maintain reusable component libraries that promote consistency and reduce redundant design work.
- Account for various user scenarios, edge cases, system constraints, and error states.
- Visual Design
- Produce high-fidelity, polished UI designs for both responsive web applications and native mobile applications (iOS and Android).
- Ensure a cohesive visual experience across platforms while respecting native interaction patterns and platform conventions
- Apply strong visual hierarchy, typography, spacing, and alignment to create clean, professional interfaces suitable for enterprise users.
- Maintain alignment with brand guidelines while modernizing and refining the overall interface aesthetic.
- Evolve and maintain a lightweight design system, including reusable components, and documentation to support scalable development.
- Collaboration
- Partner closely with the CPTO and Product Leads to deeply understand feature intent, business objectives, and customer pain points
- Participate in discovery conversations to ensure the right problems are being solved before designing solutions
- Translate product requirements into interaction patterns, and scalable UI solutions
- Actively engage in backlog refinement and sprint planning to clarify scope, surface risks, and align on design intent
- Advocate for the customer perspective in product discussions while balancing business and technical constraints.
- Partner directly with Tech Leads and engineers to ensure design solutions are technically feasible and efficient to implement
- Provide detailed design specifications, redlines, assets, and interaction guidance to support accurate execution.
- Participate in design reviews and QA to ensure implemented features align with the intended experience.
- Iterate quickly based on engineering feedback without compromising usability or clarity.
- Continuous Improvement
- Incorporate customer feedback from support, account management, and product teams into iterative design enhancements.
- Review analytics, behavioral data, and usage trends to identify usability gaps and workflow bottlenecks.
- Proactively recommend UX improvements that reduce support inquiries and increase customer efficiency.
- Continuously evaluate and refine workflows to simplify experiences as the product evolves.
- Contribute to a culture of thoughtful, customer-centric product design within the organization.
- 5+ years of UX/UI design experience for web and/or mobile applications.
- Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Product Design, Computer Science or a related field
- Experience designing B2B SaaS or enterprise-facing software.
- Experience designing customer portals or account-based platforms.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating:
- Clean, structured interfaces
- Responsive web design
- Mobile application design
- Practical UX solutions for complex workflows
- Proficiency in Figma.
- Strong understanding of responsive layouts and native mobile design patterns (iOS and Android).
- Familiarity with accessibility best practices, including WCAG standards.
- Basic understanding of front-end development constraints and implementation considerations.
- Ability to clearly communicate design decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to simplify complex workflows into intuitive user experiences.
