Job Description Summary

This role will reside within the Bearings and Gearbox Commercial team in Aerospace Procurement & Supplier Management. You will be responsible for leading the effort to identify and create Value across the commodity and products. Responsible for partnering with suppliers to project manage the development and delivery of a cost out plan that meets both current business as well as future opportunities. Additionally, in order to understand market pricing better given to us by our Supply Chain, this role will create cost estimation models to ensure our business will choose the overall best value when awarding new contracts or extending existing ones. You will be integral for the commodity strategy and will be an important input to inform decision making process, and influence growth playbook strategies.

This role can be hybrid within a commutable distance to our Evendale, OH site

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Establish close working relationship and touchpoints for Suppliers in the Commodity.
  • Excels at project management. Defines the standard for how the commodity will manage Cost Out, Should-Costs, and Source Changes.
  • Identify cost out opportunities across the commodity, create an execution plan, and lead the project to closure to achieve productivity to our business
  • Create should-cost models in connection with the commercial team Long Term Agreement strategy for competitive comparison
  • Has major influence on commodity and has ownership/influence over commodity KPI's and financials.
  • Accountable for overall Source Change Management as defined by established processes, policies and tools for an assigned portfolio of hardware, programs and/or supplier.
  • Clearly defines key milestones, overlap plans, and what success looks like for complex changes in design or source.
  • May lead functional teams or projects with resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on particular topics.
  • Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and external sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
  • Travel to domestic and international suppliers, 10% - 15%

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or institution and a minimum of 3 years of bearing and gearbox experience

Desired Characteristics

  • 5 years in Sourcing, Engineering, or Production roles
  • Project Management experience or Source Change Management experience within a Manufacturing Supply Chain organization
  • Production floor experience or Engineering experience
  • Experience with financial analysis on impact of make vs buy decisions
  • Experience with Supplier Relationship Management a plus
  • Experienced with Gearbox assemblies and/or Bearings
