Job Description
- Provide transportation as needed daily or during special events via a fifteen-passenger van or similar.
- Maintain Van Operational Checklist.
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of all members through active supervision.
- Plan, implement, and document successful Boys & Girls Club programs in the areas of academic success, character development, leadership, healthy lifestyle, STEM, and art activities with school-aged children. Helping support members in the completion of schoolwork.
- Adhere to policies and procedures in a proactive manner, making the safety and care of children your primary focus.
- Build a positive relationship with each Club member in your care and foster positive connections between participants.
- Conduct yourself as a professional and representative of the organization with school staff, parents, children, and anyone else with whom you come into contact in your role.
- Maintain and enforce rules and behavioral policies.
- Be a contributing member of the team.
- Inspect and maintain clean program areas on a daily basis. Check supplies and be sure all are accounted for and request more supplies if running low.
- Cleaning various rooms and the overall building at the end of each shift such as kitchen, bathrooms, classrooms, gym, etc.
- Actively participate in all aspects of staff or member development, weekly team meetings, pre-service training, and an additional 15 hours of training during the school year (Provided by BGCPPR).
- Participate in special programs and or events. These events may be scheduled at times when the Club is not open.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Must be 25 years or older and possess a valid Colorado driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Provide a Colorado driving record from DMV upon applying.
- Must submit to and pass a background check.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Preferably at least 3 months cumulative experience working with children ages 5-12 and/or youth ages 13 to 18.
- Afternoons required; Must be available during business hours of 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm and/or 3:00 - 7:00 pm, Monday – Friday, depending on Club location placement.
The Boys & Girls Club of the Pikes Peak Region has served the community since 1888. Our organization is also the oldest Club west of the Mississippi River and the eighth oldest Club of more than 4,300 worldwide. During our 137-year history, our organization has devoted itself to providing the youth of the Pikes Peak Region with a safe place to learn and grow. We operate two after school youth development programs and two before & after school child care programs in the Pikes Peak Region, serving approximately 1,400 youth with nationally acclaimed programming.
