Our values-Execute, Protect, Improve, and Character-drive every job we do.The Role:The VDC Detailer develops coordinated, constructible models for mechanical piping and plumbing systems while helping move more work from the field into Prefabrication.Based at our Altavista VDC & Fabrication Hub, you'll work alongside VDC and fabrication operations with a direct connection to the people building and installing what you model.We're looking for someone who can bridge the gap between what is modeled and what actually gets built.Experienced VDC candidates are encouraged to apply, but VDC experience isn't the only path into this role. Experienced plumbers, pipefitters, or mechanical tradespeople with strong computer aptitude and an interest in transitioning into VDC are also encouraged to apply.Our Altavista Fabrication Hub allows you to see your models become real assemblies, work directly with the people fabricating and installing them, and continuously improve the process:Model Coordinate Prefabricate Install LearnWhat You'll Do:Develop detailed 3D models for mechanical piping and plumbing systems.Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and submittals.Participate in VDC/BIM coordination and resolve clashes with other trades.Apply constructability and field knowledge when routing and coordinating systems.Produce coordinated installation drawings and project deliverables.Identify Prefabrication opportunities and support spooling/fabrication workflows.Work directly with project, field, VDC, and Prefabrication partners to solve problems and improve our processes. You Bring:Mechanical piping, plumbing, pipefitting, or related construction knowledge.Strong mechanical/spatial aptitude and understanding of constructability.Ability to read and interpret construction documents.Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.Revit, Autodesk Fabrication, Navisworks, AutoCAD, or similar VDC/BIM experience is preferred.
