Veterinarian - Part Time

Veterinarian – Part-Time (Fridays + 1 Weekend per Month) 

• Salary: $85,000 - $90,000 annually for approximately 20 hours per week, plus a 20% pro-sal incentive with no negative accrual in the first 12 months

Pure Paws Veterinary Care of Hell’s Kitchen is hiring a part-time Veterinarian to provide comprehensive medical and urgent care to a variety of animals, including cats and dogs.

What to Expect

• A schedule that respects your time. Our last appointment of the day is at 6:30pm (Fridays) and 2:30pm (Saturday/Sunday). You’ll work every Friday from 10am to 7pm, plus one full weekend a month (Saturdays and Sundays 9am to 3pm). Each doctor is usually scheduled for either one full weekend per month or two individual weekend days per month. If you hospitalize a patient, you are expected to remain on call for communication with the nurse team until the following day, when another doctor assumes responsibility for the case if you are not scheduled.
• A 3:1 staff to doctor ratio. You will have the support—and respect—you need to be excellent for our patients.

Requirements:

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or VMD degree from an accredited institution
• Valid veterinary license in the state of New York
• ER/urgent care experience
• Internship training (Small Animal or Emergency) preferred
• 2+ years of post-internship experience preferred

About Pure Paws Veterinary Care

Pure Paws Veterinary Care operates three hospitals across New York City, with this role based at our busy Hell’s Kitchen location in Midtown Manhattan. The hospital supports a fast-paced GP and urgent care caseload and is equipped with modern technology including in house diagnostics, digital and dental X-ray, ultrasound, EKG, echocardiogram, therapeutic laser, cryotherapy, and EZ Vet practice management software. A highly skilled support team and access to specialists in orthopedics, cardiology, and internal medicine allow doctors to focus on efficient, high-quality patient care. The position is part-time with the opportunity to grow into a full time role, with shared weekend coverage and limited on-call responsibility only when a doctor hospitalizes a patient.
