Your Role as Medical Director & Partner
As the Medical Director, you will lead the hospital's medical team and daily operations while helping shape long-term strategy. Responsibilities include:
- Providing high-quality, client-centered veterinary care
- Overseeing clinical standards, protocols, and medical decisions
- Mentoring and supporting associate veterinarians and staff
- Partnering with hospital leadership to manage scheduling, hiring, and training
- Engaging clients with clear communication and technology-enabled services (telemedicine, email, texting, etc.)
- Participating in business planning and performance reviews
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree
- Licensed and in good standing in the state of Maryland (or eligible)
- Minimum 4-5 years of clinical experience in a small animal setting
- Proven leadership and mentorship capabilities
- Strong client communication and relationship-building skills
- Desire to grow into or expand upon a practice ownership role
- Business acumen and collaborative mindset
- Fear Free or HABRI certification, or interest in obtaining one
