Veterinary Assistant, Oncology | $17–$19/hourLocation: Williston, VTSchedule: Full-Time | Tuesday–Friday, 8:00am–6:00pmCompensation: $17–$19/hourPEAK Veterinary Referral Center is hiring a Veterinary Assistant to join our Oncology team in Williston, VT. This full-time, four-day schedule is a great opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Assistant who wants to build specialty medicine skills, gain hands-on oncology experience, and grow within a collaborative specialty hospital.Compensation

- Full-Time
- Support the Oncology team with daily patient care and department needs
- Assist with safe animal restraint, handling, husbandry, and patient hygiene
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including patient areas, cages, floors, and laundry facilities
- Handle laboratory samples for in-hospital testing and outside laboratory submissions
- Assist with basic medical record keeping and review records to identify missing information or needed items
- Stock and organize medical supplies, equipment, and janitorial supplies
- Support the safe handling and workflow associated with oncology patients and hazardous medications
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients, veterinarians, technicians, and other hospital team members
- Continue developing veterinary assisting and specialty medicine skills through hands-on learning and mentorship
- Previous Veterinary Assistant experience preferred
- Strong animal handling and restraint skills with basic veterinary medical knowledge
- Interest in Medical Oncology and specialty veterinary medicine
- Willingness to learn appropriate safety practices for working around hazardous drugs
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Clear, compassionate communication skills by phone, email, and in person
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Motivated to learn, grow, and expand your veterinary skills
- Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
