Dental Veterinary Technician Assistant
Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care (PVESC) is a growing multi-specialty and emergency veterinary practice in beautiful Portland, Maine. We’re looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our Dentistry & Oral Surgery team and work alongside our Board-Certified Veterinary Dentist.

What You’ll Do
- Support patient preparation, anesthesia recovery, and post-procedure care
- Assist with advanced dental and oral surgery procedures
- Manage appointments, patient intake, estimates, and discharges
- Prepare, clean, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments and equipment
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment areas
- Provide compassionate, efficient patient and client support
What We’re Looking For
- Veterinary Assistant experience required
- Veterinary dentistry experience preferred
- Strong patient handling, clinical support, and dental imaging skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- EzyVet or SmartFlow experience a plus
- Positive attitude and commitment to compassionate care
Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time day shift
- Tuesday–Friday, 8:00 AM–6:30 PM
- Some holidays required
- $22–$30/hour, based on experience
- Up to $1500.00 sign on bonus commsurate with experience and credentials
