A bit about us
The Peninsula Vet Care story started over 40 years ago, with our first clinics in Mt Eliza and Dromana. Since then we have grown to 6 clinics, from our initial clinic in Mt Eliza all the way down to Rye Beach. Through renovations, investment in new technologies and highly skilled staff, we are delighted to be able to offer the highest levels of healthcare to the animals we see.
in 2019, our East Mornington site became the first 24/7 Emergency and Referral Hospital on the Mornington Peninsula. When it comes to consistency, we value our process of linking patient histories, meaning we'll have all of a patients information instantly on hand to provide urgent care for your pet when they need it most.
This role will be based in our Rosebud.
What it will be like for you
The key to most great clinics are the staff, and Vet Nurses who are a calming influence in surgery lead to excellent patient outcomes. Knowing what to do and when, almost acting like a Vets third hand during surgery is what we are looking for - it's a lofty bar to set we know, but it is what the team needs.
Of course, it isn't all surgeries, there will be plenty of scope for helping out in the clinic, and of course helping to teach those around you the skills that experience brings. We are passionate about providing a positive learning environment to make sure our nurses are highly skilled, and we want you to be a part of that.
Its attitude we can't teach, but we are happy to teach other aspects of the role and provide opportunities for professional development - we do have some requirements for the role though;
- We need someone 38 hours a week (including 1:4 Saturdays)
- Have their Cert IV in Vet Nursing or equivalent and have clinical experience
- Be the go-to for vets when they are moving from consult to consult, and have everything just the way they like when heading into surgery
- Confidently keep things on track and running smooth back house
