Job Description
Responsibilities:
Employment Law and Employee Relations
Provide legal counsel on employee relations matters,including performance, discipline, separations, and accommodations
Oversee and guide workplace investigations to ensure consistent, fair, and compliant outcomes
Partner with HR leadership to design andmaintaincompliant policies, handbooks, and training,reflectingthechallengesinherentin applying global rulesin certainjurisdictionsand translating across unique cultures
Monitor developments in employment law at federal, state, and international levelsto inform executive decision-makingand ensure proactive compliance
Manage employment litigation and pre-litigation matters, including oversight of outside counselto ensure quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness
Risk Management and Compliance
Drive continuous improvement of global compliance program
Oversee the Company’s ethics line, including intake, triage, investigation coordination, and resolution tracking
Collaborate withLegal, HR, and Risk teamson sensitive workplace matters,regulatory inquiries, and enforcement ofethics code andanti-corruption policies
Compensation
Lead the legal support for the Company’svarious compensation programs, including bonus plans, commission plans, andequity compensation programs
Partner with HR leadership to designcompensation strategiescompliantwith global pay laws, including wage and hour, sales incentive, and pay transparency regulations
Strategic Leadership
Advise theChief People Officer, EVP GC, and other executives on employment law risk and workforce strategy, including communications support on change initiatives and major organizational updates
Alignworkforcestrategy with business and people objectives
Translate legal requirements into actionable solutions that support businessobjectivesandalign local execution withglobal strategy
Represent CyrusOne with regulators and external stakeholders as needed
Mentor and develop HR and Legal team members to enhance employment law capability
Qualifications:
10or more years of employment law experience, including at least3years in a senior in-house counsel or law firmpartnerrole
Expertisein complex employee relations, workplace investigations, and litigation strategy
Proven experience advising executives and managing sensitive workplace issues
Background in technology, real estate, or data center industries preferred
International experience preferred
Strong strategic and business acumen with the ability to balance risk and opportunity
Excellent communication and influencing skills with executives and employees at all levels
High integrity, discretion, and sound judgment
Leadership presence with the ability to mentor and develop others

Education/ Certifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school
Active membership in at least one U.S. state bar, with preference for Texas
