Vice President, Media & Corporate Communications

Pay Details:

The annual base salary range for this position in California is $225,000 to $285,000 per year. The starting pay for the successful candidate depends on various job-related factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education/training, internal value, peer equity, external market demands, and organizational considerations.

The Opportunity

The Vice President of Media & Corporate Communications will play a defining role in shaping how the world sees and experiences OCVIBE. As the district rises, this leader will architect and amplify the narrative that positions OCVIBE as a benchmark in modern placemaking. More than a development, it’s a movement shaping the future of urban living in Southern California. This role is for a visionary communicator who understands how to translate development into story, complexity into clarity, and ambition into action. You will be the chief architect of OCVIBE’s voice across press, media, corporate affairs, and thought leadership — ensuring every message reflects the district’s purpose, scale, and promise to Anaheim and beyond.Who You AreYou are a builder — of stories, relationships, and influence. Responsibilities

Media Relations, Community Building & Thought Leadership

  • Build and lead a high-impact media strategy that positions OCVIBE as a leading example of a visionary urban development
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across business, real estate, lifestyle, entertainment, and civic media to advance organizational visibility and strategic objectives
  • Manage external agencies and land key stories in both national and local media outlets; being a mouthpiece for the development 
  • Establish a community narrative and relationships to drive placemaking of not only the development, but the overall Platinum Triangle neighborhood
  • Elevate OCVIBE’s leadership team through strategic speaking engagements, op-eds, and thought leadership platforms

Corporate & Stakeholder Communications

  • Develop messaging frameworks that unify all internal and external communications across development, leasing, and operations

Content Strategy & Storytelling

  • Translate milestones and activations into compelling stories that showcase OCVIBE’s progress, innovation, and impact
  • Oversee the content strategy creation across owned digital, social, video, and editorial channels that bring the district’s vision to life 
  • Collaborate with the content production team to ensure that on-going storytelling is executed throughout the year

Issues & Reputation Management

  • Guide OCVIBE’s response to sensitive or high-profile topics, ensuring alignment with brand values, transparency, and integrity
  • Anticipate reputational challenges and create proactive strategies that reinforce trust and authenticity

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience leading communications for complex, multi-stakeholder organizations
  • Previous experience in real estate development, placemaking, or urban projects is a must, additional experience in entertainment is a plus
  • A proven ability to translate physical development into emotional, human-centered storytelling that converts to media coverage
  • Deep relationships with influential media across business, real estate, culture, and community verticals
  • Experience navigating communications at the intersection of public and private sectors
  • Exceptional strategic writing and message development skills — from executive remarks to press narratives
  • A collaborative leader who thrives in dynamic, high-growth environments

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Education - Bachelor's Degree

Experience Required – 15+ Years
