Overview
A growing financial services organization is seeking an experienced risk professional to oversee market, financing, and counterparty risk across a diverse range of trading and investment activities. This individual will partner closely with trading, operations, finance, and senior leadership to evaluate exposures, establish risk controls, and support the firm's overall risk framework.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess market exposure across client and firm activities.
- Develop and maintain risk controls, trading thresholds, and exposure limits.
- Analyze concentration, liquidity, and volatility risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Perform portfolio-level risk analysis, scenario testing, and stress testing across multiple asset classes.
- Review financing exposures and collateral requirements while monitoring accounts for potential deficiencies.
- Work closely with front-office, operations, and finance teams to evaluate complex transactions and manage associated risks.
- Support funding, liquidity, and capital planning initiatives.
- Prepare risk reports and present findings to management and key stakeholders.
- Participate in risk-related projects, process improvements, and regulatory initiatives.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in risk management within a financial services, trading, brokerage, investment management, or capital markets environment.
- Strong understanding of financial markets and a variety of asset classes.
- Experience evaluating market, liquidity, financing, and concentration risks.
- Ability to analyze large data sets and communicate risk findings effectively.
- Advanced Excel skills required; experience with Bloomberg, SQL, Power BI, or similar analytical tools is preferred.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business, or a related discipline.
- Relevant industry licenses or certifications are a plus.
