Job Description

What you'll need to succeed as a Vice President, Business Development- Truck Body and Trailer Sales at XPO

Minimum qualifications:

  • 15+ years in truck body and/or sales with a proven track record of success
  • Demonstrated ability to build and scale a business line from inception
  • Strong strategic thinking and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and time management skills
  • Ability to work remotely or from a company office; willingness to travel extensively (50+%)
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, work or military experience
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • Deeply rooted industry connections and relationships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) and CRM platforms

What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Business Development & Growth

  • Lead the introduction and expansion of our truck body and trailer sales product line.
  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities, strategic partnerships, and key accounts.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with organizational goals.

  • Sales Leadership

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, distributors, and industry stakeholders.
  • Drive revenue growth through consultative selling and solution-based approaches.

  • Oversee dealer engagement, onboarding, and performance optimization.

  • Consultation & Advisory

  • Advise leadership on market trends, pricing strategies, and competitive positioning.
  • Provide input on marketing collateral, branding, and promotional campaigns.

  • Travel & Representation

  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings.
  • Travel to customer sites and our manufacturing facility as needed. (50+%)

Employees are paid within a salary range based on their experience, skill set, and market.

Colorado annual salary range: $147,636 to $184,545

New York annual salary range: $161,696 to $202,121

California annual salary range: $161,696 to $202,121

Washington State annual salary range: $154,666 to $193,333

Maryland annual salary range: $154,666 to $193,333

Minnesota annual salary range: $140,606 to $175,757

Illinois annual salary range: $147,636 to $184,545

New Jersey annual salary range: $161,696 to $202,121

Vermont annual salary range: $140,606 to $175,757

Massachusetts annual salary range: $154,666 to $193,333

Columbus, Ohio annual salary range: $140,606 to $175,757
