Job Description

SUMMARY:This Senior leadership position plans and directs all aspects of supply chain strategies, policies, objectives, and initiatives. Oversees the company's inventory, warehousing, distribution, transportation, quality, and production functions. Evaluates past performance data to forecast needs and production levels. Develops strategic plans to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations. Ensures that issues regarding new/existing products are resolved in a timely and cost-efficient manner. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Practices the principles of food safety, quality, and continuous improvement under GFSI guidelines.Defines, develops, and leads the Supply Chain strategies for the Company in partnership with functional leadership in Quality, Inventory Control, Traffic/Logistics, Warehouse Operations, and Production within established guidelines.Evaluates the effectiveness and efficiencies of all current procedures and processes.Identifies organizational changes and measures for improvement of the organization and initiate adequate measures.Drives Company Strategy - co-define and jointly execute the strategy of the Company.Leads, motivates, and develops the Supply Chain process through guidance, coaching, empowering individuals and teams and building company and individual expertise via training and development.Integrates and manages all departments within Supply Chain Management.Accountable and responsible for all Supply Chain operations.Integrates cost-saving measures and driving them throughout the company.Develops strategic and collaborative relationships with suppliers and customers.Maintains the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and business ethics across the company.Defines, develops, and maintains the budgetary responsibilities within Supply Chain Management.Ensures compliance with any legal, regulatory and company policies and requirements as established.Accountable to manage supplier relationships and work with support analysts to monitor assigned category trends and overall spend.Demonstrates knowledge of regulatory requirements that apply to operation and ability to implement processes/procedures that ensure compliance.Successfully interacts, communicates, and works with supervisors, personnel, management and other internal/external contacts.Performs tasks accurately with a sense of orderliness and timeliness, while paying attention to detail.Works independently and demonstrates initiative and hard work.Provides a visible reference to employees on the importance of following procedures and meeting customer expectations.Demonstrates knowledge and respect for Mays Chemical Company operations and procedures.Backup to the Production Manager (SQF Practitioner), Quality Assurance Food Safety Manager (SQF Practitioner), Director of Environmental Affairs and Distribution, Warehouse Manager, Facility Maintenance Supervisor (SQF Practitioner), Warehouse Supervisor (NJ) & (71st Street) (SQF Practitioner), and Traffic Manager (SQF Practitioner).Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly and indirectly supervises employees within the Supply Chain department(s).

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Business or Supply Management.7+ years of work experience or equivalent combination education and work experience in operations and/or supply base management in a distribution/manufacturing environment.Computer skills required: Knowledge of business software applications a plus, as well as standard documentation tools (Microsoft Word, Excel) required.Knowledge of Computer Aid Design (CAD) applications is desired.

OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED

Strong chemical distribution experience is preferred and considered a top priority.Food manufacturing experience is highly desirable and can help offset gaps in chemical distribution experience.Experience leading distribution centers and supply chain operations within organizations generating approximately $300M+ in revenue.Exposure to quality systems, quality management, or partnering closely with quality organizations is viewed as a plus.5-10 years of previous quality experience.High degree of technical knowledge relative to Supply Base Management practices and methodologies in a multi-plant global environment.Demonstrated project management skills.Ability to lead multiple small, medium and large projects simultaneously through all phases of the project lifecycle, including detailed project schedules, task lists and status change reporting.Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to produce and deliver presentations to a wide range of audiences.Leadership ability and strong goal attainment orientation.Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.Self-starter, possessing high degree of self-motivation, bias for action.Must have demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with successful completion of objectives.Ability to make sound data-driven business decisions.Supply chain industry association membership preferred
