Job Description

Work will be performed at the Auxiliary Support Building- 2450 East Peoria St, Aurora, CO, 80014

Candidates will need to pass a language proficiency test administered

MUST BE A FLUENT SPANISH SPEAKER

The Video Remote Medical Interpreter serves as a communication bridge between patients and healthcare professionals. This role provides accurate, culturally appropriate interpretation through video remote interpretation for individuals who are non-English speaking, deaf, or hard of hearing, ensuring understanding of medical information, treatment plans, and services.

" Provide real-time video remote interpretation between patients, families, and healthcare providers in the patient s preferred language

" Accurately interpret medical terminology, including anatomy, procedures, and medications

" Support effective communication in both clinical and non-clinical settings

" Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with all patient privacy policies

" Assist with translation of written documents, as needed

" Act as a trusted cultural and linguistic resource for care teams

" Successful completion of a medical interpreter competency assessment (to be administered by UCHealth)

" Completion of 40-hour medical interpreter training program (example: "Bridging the Gap")

" Minimum of 2 years of medical interpretation experiencePreferred Qualifications

" Prior Video Remote Interpretation experience

" Certified Medical Interpreter (CMI) or Certified Healthcare Interpreter (CHI) credential
