Job Description

Our Mission

Launched in 2012, Tinder revolutionized how people meet, growing from 1 match to one billion matches in just two years. This rapid growth demonstrates its ability to fulfill a fundamental human need: real connection. Today, the app has been downloaded over 630 million times, leading to over 97 billion matches, serving approximately 50 million users per month in 190 countries and 45+ languages - a scale unmatched by any other app in the category. In 2024, Tinder won four Effie Awards for its first-ever global brand campaign, "It Starts with a Swipe"

Our Values

Take the Lead

We don't ghost our work or each other. Just as users don't leave their matches hanging, we don't let each other down.

Move Fast

We have a bias for action and urgency. Something that could be done tomorrow would be better if done today.

Better Together

We keep connection at the heart of dating and at the heart of how we work. Just as our users are better when they connect with others, so are we when we collaborate.

Real Talk

We say the hard thing the human way. Just as we ask our users to behave with kindness and candor in our community, we expect Team Tinder to do the same.

Safety First

We act with integrity, transparency, and consistency so people feel safe-whether they're swiping, matching, or working alongside us.

Spark Fun

We have fun to unlock creativity, fuel innovation, and help us build better experiences for daters.

We are seeking a Vice President of Business Development to architect and scale our external ecosystem through transformative product partnerships, high-impact distribution deals, and by identifying new revenue driving or other strategic opportunities. This role is responsible for defining how we partner with the world to accelerate innovation, deepen cultural relevance, and drive sustainable growth. This role defines how we grow beyond our walls. Product partnerships will shape how users experience and perceive us, while distribution partnerships will extend our reach and accelerate scale. This leader will balance long-term vision with near-term execution, translating external opportunity into durable competitive advantage. This role operates at the center of the company, owning initiatives from conception, and partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Analytics, Legal, and Finance to execute and influence strategy and outcomes.

Product Partnerships: Use product partnerships as a core lever to define the future of our product and ecosystem.

  • Set a bold, forward-looking vision for product partnerships as a driver of innovation, differentiation, and category leadership
  • Identify, cultivate, and execute successful partnerships that expand what our product can be, unlocking new experiences, capabilities, and use cases
  • Influence product strategy by bringing external perspective, proactively identifying emerging trends, industries and consumer behaviors, and sourcing and executing partner-enabled opportunities
  • Build early relationships with up-and-coming partners and categories, positioning the company ahead of market inflection points (rather than reacting after they occur)
  • Lead co-creation and deep integrations that feel native, differentiated, and meaningful to users

Distribution Partnerships: Translate vision into scale by building partnerships that drive measurable growth and monetization.

  • Define a distribution partnership strategy that accelerates registrations, reactivations, MAU, payers, and revenue
  • Identify partners and platforms that unlock new demand, reach, and moments of intent
  • Structure and negotiate creative, scalable deals that align incentives and maximize long-term value
  • Partner with Finance, Marketing and Analytics to test, learn, and optimize performance
  • Own the full lifecycle of distribution partnership, from ideation to launch to scaled impact
  • Establish clear success metrics, accountability, and performance rigor

New Ventures & Strategic Exploration

  • Look beyond traditional product and distribution partnerships to identify new business opportunities, revenue streams, and growth vectors
  • Proactively explore adjacent markets, new business models, and emerging platforms that could materially expand the company's long-term opportunity

Leadership & Influence

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the executive team on ecosystem strategy, external innovation, and partnership-led growth
  • Build and mentor a high performing Business Development team while also not afraid to dig into details and drive execution
  • Set standards and frameworks for how the company evaluates, structures, and scales partnerships
  • Act as a connective tissue across teams, aligning vision with execution

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, strategy, or related leadership roles
  • Proven ability to lead product partnerships or platform ecosystems that drive meaningful user and brand impact
  • Experience scaling distribution or growth partnerships with clear, measurable outcomes
  • Strong strategic and commercial instincts, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity
  • Deep cross-functional leadership experience with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Legal, and Growth
  • Compelling storyteller and negotiator, able to inspire both internal teams and external partners
