This role will define and drive a multi-year transformation agenda spanning planning, forecasting, management reporting, process redesign, systems enablement, data governance, automation, and Advanced Technology-supported analytics, including AI. The Vice President will operate as a senior partner to Finance, Technology, and Business leaders across the company, translating strategy into practical execution and measurable value creation.

The role requires a leader with strong finance credibility, executive presence, and hands-on transformation capability. This person must be equally comfortable shaping future-state operating models, building business cases, guiding enterprise change, and ensuring disciplined delivery across concurrent initiatives.

Core Mandate:

The Vice President, Finance Transformation will be accountable for designing and executing an enterprise finance transformation roadmap that:

  • Leads the enterprise-wide modernization of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analytical capabilities across Sony Pictures Entertainment, establishing a scalable and future-ready finance operating model.
  • Champions the adoption of next-generation finance technologies and data platforms—including SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud, intelligent automation, and AI-enabled solutions—ensuring strong governance, business alignment, and measurable value realization.
  • Drives transformation of finance operating models, processes, and workflows to enhance organizational effectiveness, strengthen governance, and improve data quality, transparency, and control.
  • Provides strategic oversight for the deployment of technology, automation, advanced analytics, and emerging AI capabilities, ensuring scalable, secure, and responsible implementation across the enterprise.
  • Establishes and institutionalizes transformation management disciplines, including portfolio prioritization, governance frameworks, value realization, performance measurement, and enterprise change leadership.
  • Delivers sustainable business impact by accelerating financial planning and reporting cycles, enhancing decision intelligence, improving organizational agility, and reducing reliance on manual processes through technology-enabled transformation.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will be a senior finance transformation leader with a track record of driving complex, cross-functional initiatives in matrixed organizations. The individual should combine financial expertise, strategic thinking, executive communication strength, and hands-on leadership in process, systems, and data-enabled environments.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, analytics, or a related field required; MBA, CPA, or other advanced qualification preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in finance, consulting, transformation, FP&A, business intelligence, or finance systems roles, with significant leadership responsibility.
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise or large-scale finance transformation initiatives spanning planning, reporting, process redesign, systems enablement, and operating model change.
  • Strong understanding of financial planning, accounting, reporting, analytics, and the control environment within a complex business.
  • Experience working within SAP-based finance environments; familiarity with S/4HANA, planning/reporting platforms, analytics, and automation tools strongly preferred.
  • Experience building business cases, evaluating tradeoffs, and influencing senior stakeholders with well-structured narratives and recommendations.
  • Experience implementing or scaling intelligent automation, BI, advanced analytics, or AI-enabled finance use cases.
  • Ability to operate as both strategic architect and practical execution leader.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity, take a hands-on approach, manage multiple priorities, and drive measurable outcomes in fast-paced environments.

Preferred Capability

  • Exposure to entertainment, media, or similarly complex rights-, distribution-, and production-oriented environments.

Leadership Attributes:

  • Strategic, but highly execution-oriented
  • Structured thinker with strong financial and analytical rigor
  • Compelling communicator with executive presence and sound judgment
  • Collaborative leader who can influence across functions and levels
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, complexity, and organizational change
  • Technology-forward, with a pragmatic view of adoption and value realization
  • High integrity, accountability, and bias toward measurable outcomes

Measures of Success:

  • Reduced planning and reporting cycle times
  • Improved quality, consistency, and usability of actual-versus-plan insights
  • Higher adoption of modern finance tools, data platforms, and standardized processes
  • Practical deployment of automation and Advanced Technologies with appropriate governance and measurable value
  • Improved stakeholder decision support, executive visibility, and accountability
  • Documented business value delivered across the finance transformation portfolio
