What You’ll Do:

  • Fee Calculation & Invoicing

    • Own the accuracy and integrity of investment management fee calculation and invoicing across a diverse and complex client book

    • Understand, manage, and model complex fee structures, including tiered schedules, householding/aggregation, breakpoints, and customized or negotiated billing arrangements

    • Serve as the firm's subject-matter expert on fee interpretation, advising on edge cases and non-standard arrangements

  • Team & Organizational Leadership

    • Manage, mentor, and develop the billing team, building a high-performing group with clear career paths and succession planning

    • Set the strategic direction and priorities for the billing function, aligning with broader Private Wealth operational goals

    • Act as a key voice in shaping how billing operations scale alongside firm growth

  • Business Process Controls & Governance

    • Establish documented policies, procedures, and control checkpoints to ensure audit-readiness and regulatory compliance

    • Own exception and override governance, ensuring appropriate approval and documentation for non-standard billing actions

  • Process Improvement & Automation

    • Lead a continuous improvement agenda for the billing function, identifying and executing on opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce manual, error-prone processes

    • Champion the adoption of AI and automation tools to improve fee calculation accuracy, accelerate invoicing cycles, and surface anomalies or billing risk proactively (e.g., AI-assisted contract/fee-schedule parsing, automated exception detection, intelligent reconciliation)

    • Partner with Technology/Operations teams to evaluate, pilot, and implement new tools and system enhancements, including upgrades to the core billing platform (e.g., Revport)

    • Develop robust AR Rollforward to manage the life-cycle of the client

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Financial Oversight

    • Partner with Cash Applications and Revenue Accounting to ensure fees are collected timely and recorded accurately in the financial statements

    • Own reconciliation of billed vs. collected fees, driving root-cause analysis and resolution of systemic discrepancies

    • Support month-end/quarter-end close and provide fee revenue insights to Finance leadership

  • Client & Advisor Support

    • Serve as the senior escalation point for complex billing inquiries and disputes from Wealth Advisors, sales associates, and clients

    • Build advisor and client confidence through clear, consultative communication on fee structures and billing decisions

What We’re Looking For:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or billing operations, with meaningful experience in wealth management, private banking, or financial services

  • Demonstrated experience building or enhancing business process controls in a regulated financial environment

  • Proven people leadership experience, with a track record of developing and scaling teams

  • Advanced knowledge of billing systems, preferably Revport, and high proficiency in Excel; experience evaluating or implementing AI/automation tools in a finance or operations context strongly preferred

  • Strong ability to parse complex fee schedules, contracts, and financial data with high attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels
