Job Description

Were excited to support our client, a global, industry-leading manufacturing organization, in their search for a VP of HR to join their team in Detroit, MI. This hybrid role operates within a global capacity and requires approximately 25-30% domestic and international travel.
This is a highly visible, enterprise-level leadership role at a pivotal time for the organization. As their business sets an ambitious goal to double in size over the next five years, this leader will play a critical role in enabling that growth through strategic talent, organizational effectiveness, and transformation initiatives aligned to the companys 2030 strategy.
As the VP of HR, you will serve as the chief HR partner to the President of the division and a key member of both the Divisional and HR Leadership Teams. You will lead HR strategy and operations for a global business of ~2,300 employees across the Americas, EMEA, APAC, and LATAMdriving organizational design, leadership capability, and enterprise-wide transformation.
What Youll Do
- Serve as the primary HR advisor to the President of the division, acting as a true business partner and influencing strategic decisions.
- Shape organizational direction by anticipating talent and structure needsproactively laying track before the train arrives.
- Lead organizational design and effectiveness efforts, including org architecture, restructuring, role clarity, and workforce planning.
- Partner with senior leadership and external consultants to execute a new operating model aligned with growth objectives.
- Drive execution of enterprise talent strategies, including succession planning, performance management, leadership development, and internal mobility.
- Assess leadership effectiveness and ensure the right leaders are in the right roles to support business success.
- Lead and elevate a global HR operations team, building consistency, scalability, and a more consultative approach across sites.
- Standardize HR processes and practices to enable future technology adoption and AI-driven capabilities.
- Act as a change leader, supporting large-scale transformation initiatives including M&A, restructuring, and global expansion efforts.
- Leverage data and analytics to tell compelling stories, influence decision-making, and guide business strategy.
- Partner closely with global HR leaders to navigate regional labor practices, regulations, and cultural considerations.
What Youll Bring
- Proven experience as a senior HR Business Partner at the VP level with global responsibility.
- Strong background in Organizational Design and Effectiveness within complex, matrixed environments.
- Demonstrated success supporting organizations through significant growth, scale, or transformation.
- Industry experience in automotive, aerospace, or similar heavy manufacturing environments is highly valued.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to influence, coach, and challenge senior leaders.
- Change leadership mindset with the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, evolving environments.
- Data-driven approach with the ability to translate analytics into actionable insights and business decisions.
- Experience building and maturing HR operations, driving consistency, scalability, and process excellence.
- Strong executive presence and communication skills across global, cross-functional teams.
