Title: VP of Product ManagementLocation: Hybrid position in Parsippany, NJ Mission of the Role: Define and drive OLI’s product vision and roadmap, transforming customer challenges into breakthrough solutions. But complexity continues to rise as OLI scales and the technology needs of diverse verticals evolve against rapid shifts in sustainability and regulatory expectations.The Product Manager will bridge science, engineering, design, and the market, making tough prioritization calls, rallying cross-functional teams, and translating long-term vision into actionable roadmaps. The Product Manager will also work with the design team to ensure product vision is strong and well regarded.Key Responsibilities:Vision & Roadmap
- Define and own OLI’s product vision and strategy to develop a roadmap across verticals.
- Align roadmap with customer feedback, research pipeline, and long-term platform vision.
- Identify where AI can amplify existing use cases or unlock new ones, balance bets accordingly.
- Apply design thinking to workflows and interfaces, ensuring usability and adoption by technical users.
- Architect human+ AI interactions: automation, suggestion, confirmation, fallback modes.
- Simplify complexity, turn advanced chemistry models into intuitive tools that engineers and operators can trust and enjoy using.
- Run a structured intake and prioritization process for requests.
- Communicate roadmap decisions with transparency and clarity.
- Customer Engagement
- Act as the voice of the customer in roadmap decisions.
- Lead customer advisory boards, discovery interviews, and feedback loops.
- Partner with engineering and research to translate requirements into deliverables.
- Track progress, resolve blockers, and report outcomes to Leadership.
- Market & Competitive Intelligence
- Monitor trends in advanced modeling, sustainability pathways, and digital chemistry.
- Ensure OLI stays differentiated against competitors and substitutes.
- Roadmap clarity and adoption across Leadership (≥ +60 NPS internal satisfaction).
- On-time delivery of major roadmap milestones.
- Measurable adoption of new features by customers (≥ 50% of target customers within 12 months).
- Customer engagement: ≥ 4.5/5 satisfaction with product direction in executive reviews.
- Contribution to revenue growth via roadmap-driven deals (directly or indirectly attributable).
- Advanced chemical, petroleum or materials engineering degree strongly preferred.
- 8+ years in product management or adjacent leadership roles in software, modeling, or industrial technology.
- Proven track record of bringing complex technical products to market.
- Design sensibility—experience shaping intuitive, user-centered products or processes.
- Builder-coach leadership style, high integrity, strong communicator and collaborator.
- Customer Obsession – Builds direct relationships with customers to understand pain points and future needs; translates these into product requirements.
- Stakeholder Management – Navigates competing demands from vertical leads, research teams, and customers. Gains trust and aligns groups around clear priorities.
- Design Thinking – Brings a structured approach to problem framing and workflow design. Able to simplify complex science into usable, elegant solutions that delight engineers.
- Collaboration – Partners with Technology, Commercial, and Research to ensure seamless execution.
- AI & Data Fluency – Fluency with AI/data: model constraints, feedback loops, human-in-loop workflows.
- Domain Expertise – Is grounded in science, with credibility to engage with customers, researchers, and internal scientists.
- Vision & Road mapping – Is able to chart a product roadmap that aligns technology investments with customer needs and OLI’s BHAG to make OLI a verb.
- Execution & Results Orientation – Translates strategy into delivery milestones. Ensures features are shipped that matter to customers and advance our differentiation.
- Judgment & Prioritization – Is comfortable saying no, focusing resources, and making trade-offs in ambiguous situations and based on incomplete information.
- Leadership & Influence – Inspires cross-functional teams to see the big picture and deliver against it without relying on authority.
