Warehouse Assistant

Great opportunity for a dependable, hands-on warehouse professional to join a busy operation! Bring your shipping and receiving experience, forklift skills, and attention to detail to a role where you’ll support inventory, order fulfillment, and daily warehouse operations.SALARY: $19.50/HR LOCATION: NE Portland SCHEDULE: 7am-3:30pm, Monday-FridayWHY YOU’LL LOVE THIS ROLE

• Variety in Your Day: Take on a mix of shipping, receiving, inventory, order fulfillment, equipment operation, and general warehouse responsibilities.
• Hands-On Environment: Stay active while operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment, preparing orders, loading and unloading deliveries, and maintaining inventory.
• Be Part of a Strong Operation: Play an important role in ensuring orders are accurate, materials are available, and customers receive quality service.
• Opportunity to Problem-Solve: Help troubleshoot warehouse and production issues while contributing ideas to improve safety, efficiency, and processes.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Fill customer orders accurately and efficiently using warehouse equipment and machinery, including forklifts and cutting equipment.
• Load and unload delivery trucks and use SAP or similar systems to receive and ship materials.
• Process operational activities within SAP, including purchase orders, work orders, and other transactions.
• Prepare orders for delivery, transfer orders, bills of lading, delivery notes, and other shipping documentation.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels by organizing materials, completing regular inventory counts, and identifying low or out-of-stock items.
• Provide responsive customer service to both internal and external customers while ensuring orders meet quality specifications.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for quality and accurately document results.
• Follow company safety policies and procedures and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Troubleshoot warehouse and production issues, perform preventative maintenance, and complete minor equipment repairs as needed.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 1 year of warehouse and shipping/receiving experience.
• Forklift certification and experience operating warehouse equipment.
• Previous cutting or carpentry experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and proficiency with SAP or a similar system.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and work with a sense of urgency.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Ability to safely operate industrial equipment, including powered industrial trucks, pallet jacks, mobile stairs, and panel saws.
• Ability to perform physical warehouse duties, including extended standing, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling, and lift/carry up to 75 pounds.
• Must meet applicable requirements for accessing export-controlled materials.
• Occasional travel may be required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to safely use industrial equipment, including mobile stairs, powered industrial trucks, pallet jacks, and panel saws.
• Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, respirators, hearing protection, and steel-toed shoes.
• Ability to perform frequent physical activity throughout the workday, including extended standing, walking, and bending.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
